Students will be able to describe anatomical and physiological changes during all trimesters. • Identify contraindications, red flags, and safety considerations. • Conduct thorough prenatal intake and informed consent. • Demonstrate proper positioning. • Demonstrate proper bolstering. • Demonstrate proper draping. • Perform a full-body prenatal massage. • Adapt sessions for common discomforts. • Apply trauma-informed, client-centered communication. • Product Knowledge- how to select and apply safe essential oils, lotions and accessories such as rebozos for pregnant clients • Holistic Benefits - Understand how massage reduces stress hormones / cortisol and increases "happy hormones" / serotonin & dopamine. • Learn suggestions for and how to create a prenatal relevant intake form. High-Risk Pregnancy (4 Hours): • Explain common high-risk pregnancy conditions. • Recognize symptoms requiring medical referral. • Modify massage techniques appropriately. • Document sessions accurately.
