In our Mountain Mobile Education version of WBB Students will learn / demonstrate proficiency in the following:

1. Working in an environment where gravity is not applicable and utilizing it to increase clients flexibility and mobility.

2. How to maintain their balance in the water while facilitating water based bodywork.

3. Key Thai style stretches that can be easily done in the water.

4. Contraindications for Water Based Bodywork.

5. Suggested equipment to use for supporting of client in water. We will cover different body sizes and how to use different size flotation devices, noodles, halo / neck floats, additional props, as well as eye masks designed for use in water, optional ear plugs etc.

6. An understanding of and be able to explain Buoyancy (upward thrust force acting in opposition to gravity) and how it applies to water based bodywork.

7. How to keep clients head above water at all times.

8. How to incorporate any stairs or railings environment may have into stretching, traction and sitting techniques.

9. How to seamlessly introduce client to water in beginning and ending techniques to bring clients back from session.

10. The benefits of Hydrostatic pressure (equal force exerted on immersed body) and how this helps regulate the nervous, muscular, lymphatic, circulatory and respiratory systems.

11. The benefits of Resistance (drag forces occurring as resistance to movement - how water is thicker than air) and how this plays a role in muscle tone/endurance, cardiac strength, muscle balance – synergist and antagonist equalize as well as decreases edema. and increases time to react.

12. Why water temperature is so important.

13. Other precautions including pregnancy.

14. How to get the nervous system to trust you by use slower movements, more repetitions.

15. How to find what’s stuck and move it without being able to use pressure.

16. The somatic qualities of Water Based Bodywork and how to help client process their session at the end.

17. Timing of session and transitioning between techniques.
